Job Description

At Greenacre Environmental Systems Limited our business is seeing strong growth on the back of successfully delivering a number of projects as part of a framework agreement with Yorkshire Water, and as a result we are looking to recruit new talent into our engineering design and projects team to support this growth.

Greenacre ESL provide industrial ventilation services from feasibility and design through to offsite fabrication, installation, construction, testing, servicing and commissioning. This means you will have the opportunity to develop solutions and see them delivered, working closely with our site teams. If you’re looking for a new challenge, working with Greenacre ESL during a period of exciting growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer (ventilation equipment & services), predominately in the water industry.

The job would suit someone who wishes to develop their career and is prepared to undergo additional training. This is an essential element to our business and to the successful applicant becoming an integrated team member. This is a solution and specifications based job, so you will be visiting clients and working with them to solve problems with gasses, odour, dust, mist or fume extraction systems. Previous experience in this field would be considered useful.

The main duties include the accountability and responsibility for the following:

  • Undertake engineering calculations and drawings using AutoCAD for fabrication/manufacture.
  • Visiting site to obtain necessary engineering information and carry out tests for reports etc.
  • Assisting with the coordination of allocated resources including site installation and construction staff, supervisors, commissioning engineers and support staff
  • Compile documentation for the management for their reviews as necessary
  • Assist with cost to complete reviews
  • Contact suppliers and obtain quotations for material, plant & equipment and place orders
  • To support the management to achieve excellent project outcomes
  • To ensure customer satisfaction
  • To contribute to the achievement of the company’s vision, values, targets and objectives
  • To operate manage and control the company’s Integrated Management System
  • To ensure legal compliance
  • To strive for continuous improvement and share best practice
  • To actively participate and positively promote good health, safety, environmental and quality performance
  • Compile project documentation as required
  • Compile and collate final contract documentation, “As built” drawings, test sheets etc. for inclusion into Operation and Maintenance Manuals
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the management.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3/4 years of appropriate mechanical engineering experience. • Working knowledge of Microsoft & AutoCAD packages • Self-motivation • Be able to organise yourself and others workload • Be proactive in your approach • An excellent communicator • Driving Licence

Preferred Skills/Experience

• A technically relevant HND/ Degree • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries • P601/P602 accreditation • Working knowledge of CoSHH and DSEAR regulations • Working knowledge of fans/ventilation equipment requirements
